PB&J Bars

Now that Fall is here and the temperatures are more manageable I can get back to what I really enjoy baking. And since I work full time the best day for baking is sunday and that's how sunday sweets came about I try every sunday to make something sweet for my hubby. This week I am tried a new recipe...
I used to think I would re write recipes and have this great neatly organized book but I have found that the best option is page protectors and a binder!

Can't live without my Kitchen Aid mixer

turned out gooey and tasted just like a PB&J definitely a good recipe!

It all is beginning to feel less like a hobby and more like a business ( a very small business ) but none the less my business!!!
I have two  people to thank for helping me take the leap from just a hobby to a business.

Not Just in October

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month...however not just in October are people fighting the fight we are just made more aware. With things like think pink Thursdays wearing pink in honor of those fighting and the memory of those lost. A co worker asked me to create a banner for this month for her office she gave me some great  ideas and this is what I came up with.....

I really enjoyed making these banners (and not just because I love anything pink) they mean something and I hope that when they get displayed they remind people that Cancer not just breast cancer is a terrible disease and no matter how big or small support the FIGHT!

Ruffle Party Streamers

I found this idea ( and I apologize I don't remember where so I can't give proper credit) but its turns ordinary streamers and makes them adorable! I am hosting a baby shower in Oct so right now everything is pink and white. Supplies needed for this DIY: streamers and sewing machine

Take ends of two streamers set the machine to Baste stitch and begin sewing you can do as little or as much as you want when done sewing its time to begin pulling the loose thread and ruffling

The most time consuming part is pulling the thread and ruffling

However once complete its a great detail to any party or bridal shower

Burlap Clutch

I love burlap and I have been seeing it everywhere from Hobby Lobby to Joann's and being used on anything from wreaths to candles. I also love the fleur de lis design ( I think growing up with French teachers as parents might have had something to do with that ) so when I found fleur de lis burlap I knew I had to make something. I also love to sew and while on vacation this summer in mammoth I found the perfect clutch to recreate just a simple fold over with a zipper top.

Folded over and ready to carry

I added a pocket under flap for all my chapstick

Zipper Opening

Its approx. 17 inches tall by 10 1/2 inches long

Its perfect for my trip in a few weeks to New Orleans..can't wait to take it to the Saints game.

My Craft Room

Everyone always ask about where I create my projects, or how do I have space to make banners. So I thought I would give you a peek into my craft room. Usually its quite messy and that's because I have multiple projects going usually at once but these are a few photos of my craft room neatly organized.

I have a nice big window to let in natural light

I love this desk setup from ikea it allows me great storage
and a great work station for my silhouette. I even have a super cute chevron dog bed for gizmo
(our adorable shih tzu although he never lays in it)

Canvas Art

I have been seeing a lot of Canvas Art all over Pinterest and online mostly picture transfers but I came across the idea for a thumbtack design and I liked the edginess of the thumbtacks..so I bought a canvas 8x8 and some thumbtacks ( I originally bought 200 I mean how many could you really use turns out it was more like 300) and then chose a design.

This was the design used at our wedding so it has a lot of sentimental value to me. Luckily I have silhouette cameo (which I will talk about often because I LOVE and can't live without it) so I didn't have to trace the design I just cut the size I needed.

Turned out perfect! Not going to lie its kinda hard on the hands/fingers putting those thumbtacks into the canvas. However the end result is awesome pictures just really don't do it justice.

You can find this item for sale in my etsy shop as is or I can customize it.
